Charae Degrow
Charae Degrow (also known as “Rae”) is a Canadian sound engineer working across both live and studio environments. Charae has established trust quickly with industry professionals and has experience working at Ottawa venues including Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Bronson Centre Music Theatre, Club SAW, and Irene’s Pub.
Charae is the founder of Rhythm With Rae. Charae has been nominated for Sound Engineer of the Year for the 2026 Capital Music Awards. This nomination recognizes her emerging impact within Canada’s music industry and her local community advocacy work.
As of May 2026, Charae teaches Audio Production within the Music Industry Arts program at Algonquin College. Charae’s B.A. in Psychology from McMaster University shapes how she approaches her work. Her background in community mental health informs the way she builds human-centered experiences both in her technical and educational practices.
Charae has been apart of recording projects such as "Four In The Morning", a new work created by HAUI™️ and supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and Chrysalis at Toronto Metropolitan University.
KaItlyn Thorne
Kaitlyn, also known online as TechGirlKatie, is a Crew and Audio Technician. She creates content and is a proud trans woman with a passion for live events and production. Katie has a strong background in working alongside CKCU FM. She enjoys working behind the scenes to help create fun and memorable experiences. Not only does she love audio, but she dabbles in an assortment of media styles.
Outside of work, Kaitlyn loves photography. She’s proud of the work she’s done helping organize local community groups and events that bring people together in welcoming and inclusive spaces. Katie also enjoys creating vlogs and content about her lived experiences.
This summer, Kaitlyn is excited to work with Rhythm With Rae, where she will grow her experience in live production. Katie is always happy to meet new people. Give her a big hello if you see her at your upcoming event!
Marina Peters
Marina Peters is a Marketing Project Manager with a passion for building meaningful connections between brands and their audiences. A recent graduate of the Advertising and Marketing Communications Management program at Algonquin College, she brings a strong foundation in both marketing execution and strategic planning.
In her role with Rhythm With Rae, Marina supports the planning and execution of marketing campaigns. She helps bring ideas to life through organized project management and engaging content. Marina brings additional hands-on experience in live event coverage through her work with the Ottawa 67’s.
Marina is passionate about executing marketing strategies with RWR that are both impactful and authentic.
